Drawing on the long tradition of atlases as a medium for mapping and cartographic representation, this paper explores contemporary intersections between anthropocene studies, the new ecology and critical design, seeking to identify instigating questions and frame responsive statements currently being formulated.
José Bártolo is Coordinating Professor with Aggregation in Design at ESAD - School of Arts and Design. He has been active as a teacher, researcher, editor and curator since 1998. He was the general curator of the Porto Design Biennale'19 Post-Millennium Tension.
