Fernando Catarino is a junior researcher and Science Manager at Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture, and New Technologies, (CICANT) and Assistant professor at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (ULHT). He is also a PhD student at the same University in the Communication Science programme, developing his thesis in the area of Health Communication.
He is the Portuguese coordinator of the European IAWARE (2019-1-PL01-KA204-065601), TESEO (2019-1-IT02-KA203-062403), VIRTEACH (2018-1-ES01-KA203-050045) and MIGRATED (592168-EPP-1- 2017-1- IT-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN) projects.
As researcher he participated in International Improving Prenatal Health Communication: Engaging Men Via e-Health; InnovamusEUm (570516-CREA-1-2016-1-IT-CULT-COOP1; http://www.innovamuseum.eu) European Media In Action MIA (LC-00644630; http://mediainaction.eu), CLAP HANDS (2017-01-FR01-KA202-037386), ResponSEAble (652643-Respon-SEA-ble), and National DiCi-Educa – Centros educativos com competências digitais e cívicas projects, acting in this last 4 projects also as Project Manager.
As project manager he has good organizational skills and competencies, training and professional experience in managing European and national co-funded projects, being a project manager in more than 10 European and National funded projects. In the last years, Fernando Catarino has developed research in the Media Literacy field where he has projects participation, training courses conception and scientific production such as conference presentations and papers.
