Rui Pereira

Rui Pereira has a PhD in Sociology of Communication and Information from the University of Minho. He teaches at the Universidade Lusófona do Porto, in the degrees of Communication Sciences, Applied Communication and Political Science and Electoral Studies and also in the Master's in Communication Networks and Technologies and the PhD in Communication and Activism. She was a journalist for twenty years, the last thirteen of which at the weekly newspaper Expresso.In the field of journalism he was, among other distinctions, awarded the Gazeta Revelation Prize. He is the author of scientific and academic publications, as well as several works of essays and reportage, several of which have been published in or translated into English, Spanish, French, German and Italian. His area of research focuses on discourse analysis, especially regarding the relations between systems of power and extended communication devices.
