Paula Lobo has a PhD in Communication Sciences, University of Minho (2011) and a post-doc in the same area of knowledge, University of Minho (2018), both funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. She is an Assistant Professor at the Lusófona University of Porto and the Director of the 1st Cycle Degree in Applied Communication. Her work has been published in several indexed journals, book chapters and proceedings of scientific events. She has several years of experience as a Professor of Communication Sciences in subjects such as: Communication Advisory, Strategic Communication, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, Sociology of Communication, Research Methodologies in Communication Sciences and Intercultural Communication. She is a reviewer of scientific papers in leading national and international journals in the area of Communication Sciences. She is a member of several scientific associations in the area of Communication Sciences and regularly participates in the organisation of scientific meetings.
She is a researcher at CICANT - Research Centre in Applied Communication, Culture and New Technologies.
She was an Assistant Professor at ESEV and a researcher at CECS - Centre for Communication and Society Studies until 2021.
Currently, her research interests include topics related to: territorial marketing and city branding; gender stereotypes in advertising; feminist media studies; social responsibility in organizational communication; new media, political participation and public space.
