Joana Bicacro received a MSc degree on Communication Sciences from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2012. She is a junior researcher at Centre of Research in Applied Communications, Culture and New Technologies, Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (CICANT, ULHT) whose main interests are technological cultures and visual media.

She teaches “Visual Culture” and “Methods in Image Analysis” at the School of Communication, Arts and Information Technologies (ECATI, ULHT). She has published papers on audiovisual media, visual culture and image technologies.
