Events in Lisbon and Porto mark the launch of the YouNDigital newsroom

The YouNDigital newsroom has been officially launched. During two days, hybrid sessions around the theme "Journalism, Freedom and Human Rights" engaged students and media professionals to promote civic engagement and critical media literacy skills.

On Monday, February 19, ideas were shared as part of the News and Interview Laboratory course taught by Professor Marisa Torres da Silva from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Rita Murtinho (Portugal) is a freelance journalist with a master's degree in journalism, and Vitor Tomé (Portugal) is a journalist and consultant for the YouNDigital project (Portugal). The three speakers discussed their personal experiences and the challenges of journalistic practice, focusing on freedom and human rights.

The morning and afternoon sessions on Tuesday, February 20, occurred in the Sala Nobre of Lusófona University in Porto. They were organized in the context of the Transmedia and Hybrid Narratives curricular unit, taught by professor and journalist Vanessa Ribeiro-Rodrigues, and were attended by young future journalists.
