"Magazines do matter" - MagLab public launch
"Magazines do matter" is the motto of MagLab - Magazine Media Lab's public presentation session. The event will take place on December 6 at 18.30 pm (GMT) in a hybrid format, at the José Araújo Auditorium of Lusófona University. Tim Holmes, the precursor of Magazine Studies in Europe and MagLab's adviser will participate in the event.
MagLab is the first international research lab specialized in Magazine Studies. Its primary goal is the aggregation, consolidation, and development of Magazine Studies as an independent field of study. MagLab is part of CICANT and has the scientific coordination of researchers Carla Rodrigues Cardoso and Ana Figueiras.
This event will present the lab's goals, subsequent associated conferences - the next being The Future of Magazines, in July 2022 - and the presentation of research, including from CICANT lab's activities. The evening will end with two book presentations within the framework of Magazine Studies published in 2022: Transforming magazines: rethinking the media in the digital age and For a history of general information magazines in Portugal.
