COMSUS: consortium meets in Wismar to outline final stages

On 5 and 6 December, partners of the project COMSUS - Development of sustainable communications of higher education institutions in social media (KA220-HED-B927) met in Wismar (Germany) for a consortium meeting. The meeting aimed to take stock of the work currently underway and prepare the next steps.

In July, the consortium launched the pilot phase of the course "The power of social media in the professional development of teachers: personal branding, tools for educational products, promotion of sustainable development values", the first of two training programmes aimed at HEI staff. The consortium is now entering the final stages of preparing the second course, entitled "Sustainable SMM: sustainable communication in social media for higher education institutions” and aimed at HEI communication managers.

In addition, the meeting also aimed to start the development of the manual entitled “Sustainable communication in social media for HEI: how to become a changemaker?”, a working and consultation tool for HEI. The manual intends to develop competencies of content for promotion social products and values and to teamwork, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills in an international context by presenting theoretical background and practical cases of using social media for Sustainable communication for HEI.

In parallel, and as part of the establishment of the Hub of sustainable communications "COMSUS", the consortium will organise a series of brokerage sessions aimed at disseminating and promoting the use of the project's results, as well as the development and establishment of contacts and planning of future projects and initiatives.

The next project meeting will take place next in March, in Muğla (Turkey).

About COMSUS

COMSUS aim is strengthening of higher education institutions' capabilities in promoting the co-creating of resilient, inclusive and sustainable society through sustainable communications with key stakeholders in social media. Project concentrates on the relationship between media and communication and the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability. The European Climate Pact (2020), Pact for Skills (2022) are promoting and calling organisations, educational bodies and public authorities to help people to prepare for work in green conditions and be able to get a jobemployment in the green economy. In response to calls from the EU, the COMSUS project partnership decided to join the implementation of green initiatives through educational tools in higher education sector.
