FEMglocal presents booklet “History of Feminist Activisms in Portugal” at Vila Verde Secondary School
In commemoration of International Human Rights Day on December 10, Vila Verde Secondary School invited the FEMglocal – Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions research project, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) through national funds (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021 / DOI 10.54499/PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021), to develop an initiative introducing the project’s booklet “History of Feminist Activisms in Portugal”.
Conducting three sessions across different grade levels, spanning from the 10th to the 12th year, the FEMglocal team used the booklet as a pedagogical tool, promoting activities that delved into the rich history of feminist activism, uncovering and narrating stories about women in their pursuit of equality. Throughout the morning, the FEMglocal team’s mission was to inspire young minds to reflect on key themes such as feminism, gender equality, and, consequently, human rights. The approach adopted was dynamic, embracing a learning-by-doing methodology to foster engagement and practical understanding.
