Youth from across Europe gather in Brussels for the Read Twice final conference
On February 21, the European Parliament hosted the "Read Twice, Don't Repeat Lies" conference, marking the official end of the Read Twice (R2) project. This event brought together participants who have actively contributed to the project's significant growth over the past eighteen months. Organised by the Euro Advance Association and facilitated by MEP Asim Ademov (EPP), the conference addressed the multiple challenges posed by false information and the project outcomes.
The initiative took place at the European Parliament, where young media practitioners engaged in a substantive discussion with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) on the pressing issue of disinformation. The conference's scope emphasised exploring a dimension of misinformation that had received comparatively less attention in previous seminars: the intersection of politics and the (dis)empowerment of European youth. Against the backdrop of the upcoming European elections in June, the event provided an opportunity to delve into the intricate dynamics of political misinformation and its impact on the empowerment of young people across Europe.
