Throughout the month of March, researchers from the FEMglocal - Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions research project, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) through national funds (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021 / DOI 10.54499/PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021), organized a dynamic series of workshops and presentations tailored for secondary and university students. The primary goal was to disseminate and highlight the contents of FEMglocal’s booklet “History of Feminist Activisms in Portugal”.
On March 6, Ana Sofia Pereira and Priscilla Domingos delivered an engaging presentation and hands-on workshop hosted by Lusófona University – Porto. March 8 saw Maria João Cunha enlightening students with a presentation at Escola Secundária Ferreira Dias in Cacém, part of the Aqua Alba Group.
Besides this, on March 11, Ana Sofia Pereira made a significant impact with two sessions held at Escola Profissional de Economia Social in Porto, while simultaneously, in Lisbon, Sónia Lamy conducted a stimulating workshop at Lusófona University – Lisbon. Daniel Cardoso took center stage on March 14 at Escola Gil Vicente in Lisbon, delivering an insightful presentation.
Finally, on March 21, Ana Sofia Pereira, alongside FEMglocal collaborators Nuno Canossa and Luís Moura, engaged approximately 150 students in a though-provoking presentation held at Multimeios Center in Espinho. These initiatives, spanning various locations across Portugal, have proven instrumental in sharing the key concepts, historical narratives, and personal stories of the booklet. By fostering an intersectional and inclusive dialogue, they have significantly contributed to advancing understanding of feminisms and their history in Portugal.
