On June 11th, JUP – Jornal Universitário do Porto (Porto University Journal), published an article about the research project FEMglocal - Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) through national funds (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021 / DOI 10.54499/PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021).
In an interview with JUP, Carla Cerqueira, FEMglocal’s principal investigator, highlited that the research aims to understand national feminist movements and their media representations, striving to break existing stigmas surrounding the word “feminism(s)”. She also emphasized the project’s relevance both in the current context and in recovering the historical memory of feminisms, aiming to give visibility to feminist archives. The project seeks to bring feminist movements into the public sphere, targeting diverse audiences and producing various outputs, including a booklet, scientific articles, a podcast, and a final documentary, among others.
