New Creative Europe funding will design immersive learning experiences based on news gamification
CICANT has successfully secured Creative Europe funding for the project NewsArcade@Classroom. This initiative emerges as an extension of the ongoing CREA project "NewsArcade-Seriously Play the News!" (101060250) which introduced an innovative Authoring Tool designed to gamify news stories, enhancing young adults’ media literacy skills.
NewsArcade@Classroom aims to elevate this format to specifically address the needs of media and information literacy education. By leveraging the existing tool, the project aims to develop new educational formats for educators to implement with students aged 12-25. These interactive and immersive learning experiences are designed to engage students in critical thinking, digital literacy, and media analysis.
The consortium gathers partners from Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, France and Portugal and is coordianted by the DIAS Media Group Ltd (Cyprus).
The acquisition of this funding marks a significant step forward in the promotion of media literacy and education, with the potential to create a lasting impact on young adults' engagement with traditional media.
