On September 7, 2024, the MAC/CCB auditorium in Lisbon will host the lecture "(In)consenso - Art and Science: A Negotiated Love Affair", featuring Marta de Menezes. This event will explore the intersection of art and biology, highlighting how artists and scientists collaborate to create contemporary art projects. Marta de Menezes, a key figure in experimental art with over two decades of experience, will discuss the opportunities and challenges of this interdisciplinary field and share insights from her leadership roles at Cultivamos Cultura and Ectopia, Portugal's leading institutions for experimental art.
The lecture is part of the "Other Spaces" conference series, a collaboration between the CCB - Centro Cultural de Belém, ECATI - Escola de Comunicação, Arquitetura, Artes e Tecnologias da Informação, and CICANT - Centro de Investigação em Comunicação Aplicada, Cultura e Novas Tecnologias. Moreover, the 2024 theme, "The Margins of Freedom", commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese Carnation Revolution by examining how individuals and communities have historically responded to restrictions on freedom, creating new spaces for expression and resistance.
Event Details: September 7, 2024, at 4:00 PM, MAC/CCB Auditorium, Lisbon. For more information, visit the Centro Cultural de Belém website or the Facebook event page.
