"Itinerante" is the result of a collaboration between the Educational Service of the Bordalo Pinheiro Museum and Labtec (Lusófona/DCAM) in order to respond to a very specific need of the museum: to take the imaginary of Bordalo Pinheiro outside the museum. It is a modular interactive structure, easy to assemble and transport, designed to explore sound and tactile content accessible to people with low vision or blindness. It fits with the premise that materialising and making artistic content tangible makes it accessible to more people (Bakker, Antle, & den Hoven, 2012; Vaz, Fernandes, & Veiga, 2016). The inaugural exhibition took place at the Bordalo Pinheiro Museum on 22 June 2021, but is always ready to take Bordalo Pinheiro's images and sounds wherever they are requested.
