CICANT researcher Maria José Brites is one of the organizers of the upcoming discussion panel, "Teaching Audiences Today: Why, How, and For Whom", hosted by the ECREA Audience and Reception Studies Section. The event will take place on September 24, 2024, from 10:00 to 13:30 at Café Kava Bar Gaj (TBC), near the Faculty of Social Sciences.
As vice-chair of the ECREA Audience and Reception Studies Section, Maria José Brites has been actively involved in shaping this event, which aims to tackle pressing questions around audience studies within today's rapidly changing media and communication landscape.
The panel will focus on how audience studies are taught across different institutions and how the field can evolve to address the digital age’s challenges. Two sessions will explore teaching methods, course content, and the integration of audience studies into broader media and communication curricula.
This free event offers an opportunity for educators, students, and researchers to share insights and engage with leading scholars. To participate, register by July 15, 2024. Spaces are limited, and applicants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, with notifications sent by July 30, 2024.
