Manuel José Damásio, head of the Film and Media Department at Lusófona University and member of CICANT’s board, has been elected President of CILECT, the leading global association of cinema and media schools. The elections, made during the CILECT conference at the Communication University of China, highlight the growing influence of CICANT and FilmEU in shaping global standards in film education. Manuel José Damásio will serve in his role for a minimum of four years, representing the interests of 186 member schools from 63 countries.
Additionally, CICANT integrated researcher Tobias Frühmorgen, has joined CILECT’s Committee on Sustainability, which will drive green initiatives across member institutions. Barry Dignam, Vice Dean at IADT and a member of the FilmEU board, has also been elected Chair of GEECT, CILECT’s European chapter, as well as to the CILECT Executive Council.
These nominations are relevant recognition of CICANT and FilmEU’s impact on global film education.
