CICANT Researcher Launches Academic Book on Analogue Game-Based Learning

Carla Sousa, a researcher at CICANT, has co-edited and co-authored the book "Transformative Learning Through Play: Analogue Games as Vehicles for Educational Innovation", recently published by Springer. This publication explores the role of analogue game-based learning in fostering transformative educational experiences, particularly in addressing the complex challenges of the Anthropocene era. The book examines how games can be powerful tools for learning, critical thinking, and social engagement across diverse contexts.

Besides editing the whole book, Sousa made significant contributions to two key chapters - "The Psychology of Analogue Game-Based Learning" and "Introduction to Inclusivity in Analogue Game-Based Learning: Challenges and Strategies". While the first one explores the psychological foundations that underpin learning through analogue games, the second one provides strategies for overcoming barriers to inclusivity, advocating for game design that reflects the principles of universal access and participation.

The book is already available through Springer’s website: https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-031-78523-8.
