The first interim meeting of the YouNDigital project took place on November 29th. The meeting, which, in addition to the team, was also attended by the project's international consultants, served to take stock of the work conducted over the past year and the preliminary results of the systematic literature review, a crucial task of the first year of the project.
In the upcoming months, the project, coordinated by researchers Maria José Brites and Teresa Sofia Castro, will launch a national questionnaire. Through this survey, YouNDigital aims to collect information to help understand the connection between young people, the news, and digital citizenship, and their interests and needs related to news consumption.
The project's first two-day face-to-face meeting will take place, at Lusófona University, in Porto, in May 2023. This meeting happens at a critical point in the project, with survey data collected, and the qualitative fieldwork underway.
Official launch of the project website
The meeting was also marked by the official launch of the project website. Besides housing information about the project and its goals, the YouNDigital website aims to be a repository of useful materials and a meeting point for all parties involved in the project. In order to do so, the webpage will share reports, preliminary results, information about events and publications resulting from the research activities, and bibliographic databases. The research team invites all people to visit YouNDigital’s website - available at https://youndigital.com
