FEMglocal Booklet: “História dos Ativismos Feministas em Portugal” [“History of Feminist Activisms in Portugal”]

The research project FEMglocal – Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021) released its first booklet “História dos Ativismos Feministas em Portugal” [“History of Feminist Activisms in Portugal”]. In addition to encouraging thought on the single feminist narrative and its deconstruction using a logic of situated knowledge, this booklet aims to promote conversation about feminist activisms and gender issues in the public sphere, particularly in schools. Furthermore, it tries to bring back to history the memories of Portuguese feminists and their struggles as a way of advancing feminism education and, by extension, human rights education.

The booklet was released online in celebration of the International Day of Education - january 24th - and can be downloaded on the FEMglocal’s website.
