YouNDigital seminar: Let's talk about youth and news

The project YouNDigital - Youth, news and digital citizenship (PTDC/COM-OUT/0243/2021) is organizing the seminar YouNDigital: Let's talk about youth and news that will bring together international experts from youth and news studies: Irene Costera Meijer (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), Lynn Schofield-Clark (University of Denver), Marcel Broersma (Centre for Media and Journalism Studies, University of Groningen), Nic Newman (Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, University of Oxford) and Vítor Tomé (Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, CIES-ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa). 

The session will be held in English from 11am on Thursday May 4, at the Noble Room of Universidade Lusófona (Centro Universitário do Porto). There will be simultaneous online transmission. Participation is free of charge, but subject to prior registration.

Marcel Broersma (Center for Media and Journalism Studies, University of Groningen): What feels like news? Young people's tacit and affective understanding of news.

Nic Newman (Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, Oxford University): The news habits of social natives (18-24s) - an international perspective. 

Vítor Tomé (Autonónoma University of Lisbon, CIES-ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon): The role of journalists in media literacy projects and practices.
