David William Novack

Professor Novack is a specialist in film sound / sound design and documentary filmmaking. He has designed and mixed dozen of films including Todd Hayne's "Safe" and "Velvet Goldmine," recorded ADR for hundreds of feature films. Additionally, he sound designed Roger Waters' opera "Ça Ira," supervising it's opening run in Rome. Mr. Novack produced and/or directed three international award-winning films, "Burning The Future: Coal in America," "Kimjongilia" and "Finding Babel." He is presently engaged in two additional feature length documentary projects. Mr. Novack has been teaching undergraduate and graduate film theory and practice at the University of Pennsylvania for 8 years. He has toured internationally through the US State Department, lecturing in China, Ukraine, Estonia and elsewhere. He holds an Bachelors of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Diploma in Music from Berklee College of Music.
