Johan Siebers is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Middlesex University London. He is also a Fellow at the Institute of Modern Languages Research, School of Advanced Study, University of London, where he directs the Ernst Bloch Centre for German Thought. He is founding and principal editor of Empedocles: European Journal for the Philosophy of Communication and co-founder and former Chair of the Section for Philosophy of Communication of ECREA. He designed and led the UK’s only MA in Rhetoric at the University of Central Lancashire for many years. In his research, scholarship and communication practice he uses philosophical approaches to investigate and articulate the place of communication in our lives, to support people to live more fulfilling lives by becoming more conscious communicators and to design sustainable communication environments.
