Edmundo Cordeiro is Associate Professor and currently Professor of Theory and Aesthetics of film.
He holds a Ph.D. in Communications Sciences and did post-doctoral studies on the work of Canadian and Portuguese filmmakers, namely Pierre Perrault and Pedro Costa.
Among other publications, he is the author of «Actos de Cinema» [Acts of Cinema], on the film aesthetics of the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze, and of the book «Pedro Costa e Pierre Perrault».
Edmundo Cordeiro directed the film «Todas as Cartas de Rimbaud» [‘All Rimbaud's Letters’] (about the Portuguese philosopher Maria Filomena Molder, premiered at Doclisboa'17), and was script-doctor of the fiction film «O Capacete Dourado» [‘The Golden Helmet’], screenwriter of «Na Escola» [‘At School’], «O Rebocador» [‘The Tow Truck Driver’], and «Amor Amor» [‘Love Love’], all directed by Jorge Cramez (2007, 2010, 2014 and 2016). Presently, he works on the film projects «Tentação, Cabeça e Coração» [‘Temptation, Head and Heart’], «Rebuçados Venezianos» [‘Venetian Candy’].
