Isabel Babo as made the aggregation in Communication Sciences at the University of Minho (Portugal), as a PhD in Sociology at the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, in Paris, under the direction of Louis Quéré, with the thesis La Configuration des Evénements Publics. L'affaire Republic et les manifestations aux Azores (Portugal, 1975), and a degree in philosophy from the University of Porto.
Is director of the doctoral program in Communication and Activism in Universidade Lusófona - Porto university center, where she teaches, and is researcher at the Cic.Digital / CICANT (Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture and New Technologies). Her areas of expertise are the sociology of communication, theories of public sphere, events media’s configuration, reception and publics, networks and activism.
