Since the 1980´s as Graduate Student in IGC (Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência) he pursued a career in the development of Biomechanics of Human Movement as an interdisciplinary field and its interactions with other scientific areas.
In the past decades he holds experience in implementation and management of university and hospital specialized laboratories as well as R&D transfer.
Since 2007, Professor at ULHT and researcher on CICANT focus is activity on MovLab’s R&D especially on methodological development of biomechanics as an applied tool.
This goal is achieved developing partnerships with other units within ULHT (ECATI, Physical Ed. & Sports Sciences and Veterinary) or national and international institutions.
Was invited for over than 20 international keynote lectures and by himself or in collaboration, over 30 papers in international journals subject to peer reviewer.
He is steadily a peer reviewer of “Clinical Biomechanics” and ad hoc of several others journals.
