Games Inclusion Lab: Participatory Media Creation Processes for Accessibility.

GameIN intends to foster the development of a game creation kit and an inclusion-driven lab that, by increasing both access and accessibility, broadly promote equity and the United Nations (UN) 2030’s Agenda for Sustainable Development. Even if such contribution is developed through the case study of adults with ID, GameIN considers that such premises can be extended to a wider audience, mainly composed by other vulnerable populations, with specific support needs and specific associated accessibility concerns. By democratizing accessible game creation tools and methods and considering the well-described role of games in education, GameIN aims to support Quality Education (goal 4), particularly by fostering the elimination of disparities, and by creating more inclusive learning environments. Moreover, it is also developed considering to Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all (Goal 8), given the potential of GameIn to support inclusive occupation for everyone, and to promote social and digital inclusion of people with disabilities.
