Universidade Lusófona promotes digital inclusion for the elderly in the local community
In the context of research carried out within the scope of the PhD in Communication Sciences program, Universidade Lusófona is promoting digital inclusion for the elderly to understand the different aspects of the adoption or rejection of technologies by this population segment. The study is taking place at the Junta de Freguesia do Lumiar (Universidade da Terceira Idade), Junta de Freguesia de Alvalade (Espaço Brioso), Centro Social do Campo Grande, and at the Lusófona University itself, thus showing a strong commitment to the local community through improvements on the quality of life, digital inclusion, and literacy. Simultaneously, student Claudilene Perim intends to explore aspects related to such variables and intergenerationality, promoting applied research directly associated with the needs and reality of this population.
