The researchers Maria José Brites (PI) and Teresa Sofia Castro (Co-PI) were present at the 2023 edition of the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR 2023) conference, which took place this year in the United States, in Philadelphia.
On Friday, the 20th, Teresa Sofia Castro was responsible for moderating a session on Inequalities, where presentations were made on practices and participation of different vulnerable groups in digital contexts.
On Saturday, the 21st,Maria José Brites presented the work "Views of the world and looking into the future of news: researching youth, news, and citizenship in Portugal", co-authored by Teresa Sofia Castro, Margarida Maneta, and Andreia Pinto de Sousa. The presentation focused on the results of the survey applied to young people (15-24 years old) living in Portugal, and highlighted the perspectives of respondents with non-European nationalities, on how they perceive the world and imagine the future of news.
The conference was organised by Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania.
