he Early Visual Media Lab, part of CICANT, has resumed the Carlos Relvas Catalogue Raisonné project, launched in 2021.
This new phase expands the scope beyond stereoscopic images to include additional photographic typologies produced by Carlos Relvas, whose extensive work remains central to the History of Portuguese Photography. The project will also cross-reference subjects, negatives, and print formats, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of his oeuvre.
The initiative continues to rely on key partnerships with institutions holding Relvas’s archives, particularly the Casa-Estúdio Carlos Relvas and the Casa dos Patudos.
Work will take place over the coming months, with digitised materials and curated content being progressively made available online.
Following the model of the first phase, the project will also include a Photography student through a curricular internship, reinforcing the Lab’s commitment to hands-on training.
