The 3rd meeting of the Permanent Forum for African Studies in Portuguese took place on 9 April, bringing together researchers from Angola, Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and Portugal.
This session was dedicated to the presentation of ongoing projects and initiatives, fostering dialogue, collaboration, and networking among participants. The meeting further reinforced the Forum’s role as a dynamic space for intellectual exchange and matchmaking within the field.
Hosted at CICANT’s LabCLIP, the Forum is coordinated by Lurdes Macedo, Sheila Khan, Elísio Macamo (University of Basel), and Tom Stennett.
Held every two months, the Forum functions as an informal platform for presenting research, promoting debate, and building collaborative networks. Its core objectives include shaping a shared intellectual agenda, strengthening connections among researchers, and advancing knowledge production in the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP).
Open to new participants, the initiative continues to expand its international network, contributing to the consolidation of African Studies in Portuguese as a growing field of research.
