On July 12th, Ana Sofia Pereira, post-doctoral fellow for the FEMglocal - Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions research project, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) through national funds (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021 / DOI 10.54499/PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021), participated in the 3rd RNEC Congress – National Network in Cultural Studies.
Ana Sofia Pereira presented the paper “SlutWalk Movement in Portugal: An Analysis of Media Coverage”, developed in collaboration with Carla Cerqueira (FEMglocal’s PI) and Célia Taborda (FEMglocal’s Co-PI). The presentation delved into the national portrayal of the SlutWalk movement by the media, exploring its local impact, the issues it addresses in Portugal, and how mainstream media coverage shapes public discussions around this transnational feminist movement.
