The first General Assembly of the CECAM project - Centre of Excellence and Pedagogical Innovation in Cinema and Media Arts - was held at the Fernando Lopes Cinema on 4 October at 4pm. This project is part of the National Resilience Fund call for proposals ‘Investment RE-C06-i07 | Mais Impulso Digital 04/C06-i07/2023 - Sub-measure Innovation and Pedagogical Modernisation in Higher Education’.
CECAM aims to create a Centre of Pedagogical Excellence in Cinema and Media Arts, with a focus on developing essential skills and competences in artistic areas, where creativity and critical thinking are fundamental. Over the next three years, the project will receive funding of approximately 1 million euros and its main objectives will be teacher training, the promotion of lifelong learning programmes for professionals in the sector, as well as the creation of ‘living labs’, innovation spaces aimed at developing young creative talent.
This important milestone in the start-up of CECAM promises to boost pedagogical modernisation in higher education and innovation in the media arts.
