CICANT Researcher Co-Authors Study on Assistive Technologies for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities

CICANT researcher Carla Sousa has co-authored the study “International Perspectives on Assistive Technologies for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities: Findings from a Delphi Study”. This innovative research, which gathered insights from 284 experts across 31 European countries, sheds light on the transformative potential of assistive technologies (ATs) in improving social inclusion, education, and mental health for autistic individuals and those with intellectual disabilities.

The study highlights a broad consensus on the benefits of ATs, while also identifying critical barriers and differing perspectives among expert groups. These findings offer valuable insights to policymakers, aiming to overcome challenges and promote inclusion through technology-driven solutions.
