CICANT Researcher Discusses Social Inclusion Through Games at Lisbon Games Week 2024

On November 22, 2024, CICANT researcher Carla Sousa delivered a presentation at Lisbon Games Week titled “Games as Tools for Social Inclusion: Challenges and Opportunities”. Her talk highlighted the potential of digital and analogue games to foster social inclusion by enhancing well-being, relational dynamics, and learning.

Carla Sousa also showcased research from CICANT-led projects, including the GameIN Project (2022.07939.PTDC), ID Games (2019-1-EL01-KA204-062517), and TEGA (2020-1-UK01-KA203-079248). These initiatives focus on participatory design and accessibility in game development, demonstrating how games can empower marginalized communities and promote equitable participation in education and employment.
