CICANT highlights the call for papers for the ECREA Audience and Reception Studies (ARS) mid-year conference, titled "Navigating Algorithmic Society: Audiences’ Tactics to Understanding the World." The event will take place on October 30-31, 2025, at Södertörn University in Stockholm, Sweden.
Organized by Södertörn University and ECREA ARS, the conference will explore how audiences engage with and make sense of the algorithm-driven media landscape. Topics of interest include datafication, social media and information practices, media literacies, platform dynamics, and participatory media.
Keynote speakers include Professor Stine Lomborg (University of Copenhagen), an expert in digital tracking and datafication, and Professor Tiziano Bonini (University of Siena), known for his research on media production and audience studies.
Researchers are invited to submit abstracts by May 1, 2025. The conference is free for ECREA ARS members, with fees for non-members set at €100 (€50 for PhD students).
