🕒 Time: 15:30
📍 Location: MAC/CCB, Praça do Império, Lisbon

About the Conference
Despite the proliferation of artworks, contemporary art faces a crisis of meaning. Theodor Adorno noted in 1970 that “everything concerning art is no longer self-evident”. The weakening of aesthetic frameworks and institutional art spaces has led some to turn to politics for artistic validation—an approach that, according to Bragança de Miranda, raises more questions than answers. He will argue that the artwork itself, in its singularity, becomes the only defining criterion, each piece forming its own fleeting aesthetic and conceptual framework.
