Two Lusófona PhD Students awarded FCT Scholarships
Maria Gonçalves and Priscilla Domingos, both PhD students at Lusófona University, have been awarded doctoral scholarships in the latest national competition held by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
Maria Gonçalves is pursuing her PhD in Communication Sciences and her thesis is titled "Between commercial pressures and a civic ethos - an ethnography of Portuguese independent journalism organizations". As for Priscilla Domingos, she is enrolled in the PhD program in Communication and Activism and is pursuing a thesis titled "Intersectional Feminism and Resistance: Analysis of Media Coverage of the #EleNão Movement in Portugal". The highly competitive FCT scholarships provide vital support for advanced research and are a significant recognition of the academic merit and potential of the selected candidates.
Both students expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to deepen their research and contribute to the growing field of communication studies in Portugal.
