The National Contact Point Department for EU Research Programmes (Poland), in cooperation with Czech, Portuguese, and Romanian NCPs, will host the International Information Day on the European Excellence Initiative (EEI) on 29 September 2025. The online event will provide applicants and stakeholders with practical insights into the Horizon Europe call HORIZON-WIDERA-2025-01-ACCESS-01.
The programme will address the objectives and requirements of the EEI, offer advice on preparing strong proposals, and share lessons learned from previous calls. National experiences from Portugal, Romania, Czechia, and Poland will also be presented.
A highlight of the session will be the presentation of the WIRE project – Widening Innovation + Research Excellence in FilmEU, delivered by its coordinator Prof. Manuel José Damásio, who also leads the FilmEU European University Alliance. Running from 2024 to 2027, WIRE focuses on strengthening research and innovation capacity within FilmEU through capacity-building activities, international networking, and collaboration with industry and the cultural and creative sectors.
By showcasing best practices and ongoing projects, the Info Day aims to support institutions and researchers across Europe in contributing to the goals of the European Excellence Initiative: enhancing research excellence and promoting wider participation in innovation.
