CICANT supports European campaign calling for a strong future for culture in the EU budget

CICANT is supporting the European campaign #NamePlaceFund, which calls on the incoming Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union to ensure that culture is explicitly recognised, strategically positioned and adequately funded in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

As part of this collective initiative, a joint letter signed by a broad coalition of European cultural and creative organisations has been sent to the Irish Presidency, urging decision-makers to place culture at the heart of Europe's future policy and investment agenda.

The campaign highlights the essential contribution of culture and the cultural and creative sectors to democracy, innovation, education, social cohesion, and Europe's long-term resilience. It also calls for a dedicated and well-funded framework that enables these sectors to continue generating social, cultural, and economic value across Europe.

By supporting this initiative, CICANT joins a growing network of organisations advocating for a stronger recognition of culture in future European policies and funding programmes.

The full letter is available here.
