Lusófona University opens registration for training on news literacy and gamified learning

Lusófona University, as part of the European project NewsArcade – Seriously Play the News in the Classroom! project (Project Number 101186092), will run two accredited training courses for teachers from various subject areas, school librarians, trainee teachers and others, on news literacy and gamified approaches to literacy.

The short-duration training courses will take place during October, between the 7th and 28th, in online format, from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. The courses are certified by Lusófona University and are free of charge, although registration is required. Registrations are currently open.

In an era marked by the rapid spread of misinformation, algorithm-driven content and growing distrust in traditional media, equipping educators with the tools to teach news literacy has never been more pressing. These training courses respond directly to that need, offering practical, evidence-based strategies, including gamification, to help students critically evaluate news sources, recognise disinformation, and become more informed, engaged citizens in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
