The YouNDigital project will host the event "Public Policies, Youth and Media Education" on December 4th at Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss media education, news consumption, and public policy implications for young people.
The event, organised by CICANT researchers Maria José Brites, Teresa Sofia Castro, and research scholar Margarida Maneta, will feature two round tables addressing critical issues in contemporary media literacy. The morning session on Media Education will gather Alexandre Le Voci Sayad (ZeitGeist), Carla Barros (Directorate-General for Education (DGE)), Paulo Couraceiro (GILM), and Sérgio Gomes da Silva (#PortugalMediaLab#, and will be moderated by Paulo Resendes (LUSA).
The second round table will focus on Public Policies, featuring Carla Martins from the Media Regulatory Authority (ERC), José Reis from the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA), Rui Dinis from the Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth (IPDJ), and Sara Machado from Creative Europe. Ana Sofia Freitas (RTP Notícias) will moderate the session.
The event begins at 9:30 AM with an opening session and screening of YouNDigital videos, with free entry for all participants. During the afternoon, a private session on advocacy and social impact will be led by Alexandre Le Voci Sayad.
