On 29 November 2025 at 3:30 PM, the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) hosts the conference “The Invention of the Oracle” by Jonathan Uliel Saldanha, organised in partnership with ECATI and CICANT of Lusófona University.
Drawing from his artistic practice, Saldanha will explore key elements of his work, the contamination of the body by landscape, the mutation of language, and rhythm as a catalyst of the hyper-present. His talk will examine the dramaturgical and cybernetic mechanisms linking the resonant body, technological bloodstream, sonic spectres, and synthetic dream, revealing compositional processes where cosmogonies and timbres coexist in constant transformation.
A composer, visual artist, and stage director, Saldanha works across sound, corporeality, and spatial construction. His practice combines pre-verbal languages, cybernetic feedback, and speculative cosmologies to create immersive environments where perception and reality merge. His work has been presented at institutions such as Museu de Serralves, Palais de Tokyo, and CCB, and at festivals including Primavera Sound and CTM. He is represented by Galeria Duarte Sequeira.
This event is part of the “Other Spaces: Creative Margins” series, a collaboration between CCB, ECATI, and CICANT that connects artistic and scientific research with the community, promoting dialogue across arts, culture, architecture, and digital media. The conferences take place monthly at MAC/CCB from March to December.
