CICANT researcher contributes to article on Digital Disconnection
CICANT researcher Ana Jorge and PhD student Filipa Neto contributed to a s_cities feature exploring digital disconnection and the emergence of offline spaces and communities in Lisbon.
Titled “The Offline City: Disconnecting from Your Phone to Reconnect with the Real World”, the article explores the growing interest in experiences that temporarily reduce digital device use and encourage face-to-face interaction.
The researchers’ contributions shed light on the evolving relationship between technology, society, and urban sociability, including the motivations behind digital disconnection and the growing commercialisation of offline experiences.
