The International Journal of Film and Media Arts (IJFMA), edited by CICANT, has published Volume 10, Issue 2 (2025), titled Cinematic Minds Behind the Screens. This new issue brings together contributions from philosophy, psychology, artistic research, cognitive film studies, and film practice.
Focusing on cinema as a dynamic, embodied, and affective process, the issue moves beyond the notion of film as a finished product, instead highlighting the interplay between filmmakers’ creative practices and audiences’ perceptual and imaginative engagement.
Edited by Pia Tikka, Elen Lotman, and Maarten Coëgnarts, the issue features a diverse set of articles addressing topics such as embodied montage, empathy in cinema, participatory authorship, film education, sound, and collaborative creative processes.
