The editorial board of the International Journal of Stereo & Immersive Media has announced the publication of
Volume 9, Issue No. 2 of the International Journal of Stereo & Immersive Media
is out. The edition features scholarly work that explores both historical and contemporary immersive media.
The issue opens with an invited article on the panorama as an important media art form and documentary heritage. Written by the Memory of the World (MoW) Scientific Committee of the International Panorama Council, the article makes the case for including panoramas in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register and provides a comprehensive global inventory of preserved panoramas.
The issue includes five peer-reviewed articles covering a wide range of immersive media topics, from historical optical instruments to modern stereoscopic film production:

"Sobre as Câmaras Escuras Primitivas, ou Paleo-Câmaras: Contributos para uma História dos Dispositivos Ópticos" by Ricardo Geraldes
"Experiencing Landscape as a Visual Event" by Martin Dokoupil
The issue's cover features an illustration of Félix Philippoteaux's panorama Défense de Paris, captured during its creation at the Champs-Élysées, Paris, on 2 November 1872.
