EPIC-WE organised workshop on Cultural Game Jams

On 21 January, the EPIC-WE project organised a workshop entitled ‘Cultural Game Jams and the Quadruple Helix Innovation Model’. The aim was to equip participants with the skills to organise a Cultural Game Jam in an educational context.

In the first part of the event, Professor Conceição Costa presented the EPIC-WE project, the concept of Cultural Game Jam, and the quadruple helix. After a coffee break, Professor Wilson Almeida led an exercise in developing a Cultural Game Jam. Participants proposed themes and formed groups to work on a possible application for the Cultural Game Jam, including cultural facilitators and thinking about activities that could inform the development of the games.

At the end of the session, there was a discussion moderated by André Graça (CECAM) in which professors, creative industry professionals, and members of cultural institutions participated.

The event was attended by 22 people, including teachers, members of cultural institutions, and video game companies.
