CresCine will mark the conclusion of its three-year research programme with two major events in Berlin: a Research Conference at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and an Industry Conference at the Berlinale European Film Market (EFM) 2026.
Bringing together researchers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers, the events will present CresCine’s final results and discuss the future sustainability and competitiveness of European film in small markets. The programme culminates in the official launch of State of European Film – Volume 3 (SOE3), a recommendation-driven report addressing the challenges of an increasingly platform-dominated audiovisual landscape.

The conference will present CresCine’s key findings, covering topics such as standards and policy development, innovation in small markets, funding ecosystems, platformisation, distribution strategies, and international competitiveness.
The programme includes a keynote by Susanne Eichner and contributions from partners including Lusófona University, Tallinn University, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Aarhus University, and other consortium institutions.
