Funded by the FCT and led by Daniel Cardoso, the project focuses on Portuguese Instagram content producers whose work challenges the boundaries between art and “obscenity”. The project examines how digital technologies, platform moderation, economic pressures, and social norms are reshaping photographic production and the status of the “artist”. Particular attention is given to the risks of content removal and platform expulsion.
Adopting a multidisciplinary and participatory approach, Digiplart combines qualitative and digital methods and will culminate in a photographic exhibition and book. The team from CICANT also includes Manuel Pita (Senior Researcher) and Margarida Santos (Project Manager).
