STORYline releases open-access bibliographic database on Youth and Intergenerational Citizenship

146 peer-reviewed references now available to support research on digital narratives, media literacy and civic engagement.

The STORYline research project has published a comprehensive bibliographic database exploring youth citizenship through intergenerational approaches and digital narratives, making it freely available to the research community.

The open-access collection includes 146 peer-reviewed references spanning 15 years of scholarship (2010-2025), compiled through a scoping literature review, capturing both a long-term perspective and the most recent developments in the field. The final selection includes peer-reviewed, open-access articles published in academic journals. Key concepts, including citizenship, digital citizenship, youth, intergenerationality, intergenerational solidarity, media and information literacy, narratives, and digital media, guided the search. The review encompassed research from Communication Sciences, Social Sciences, and Political Sciences, ensuring a multidisciplinary perspective on youth civic engagement and intergenerational relations.

Each database entry includes detailed metadata, such as title, publication year, journal name, abstract, DOI, and a direct link to the study. The database is accessible via Zotero at: https://www.zotero.org/groups/6442989/storyline_slr/library
